If it’s crashing on you, Go into /Applications/MapsOffline.app/ and make sure permission for all files in there are set to 755. I’m not sure if that’s the reason it’s crashing on you, but I do know that this is a problem with a lot of jiggy apps.
Hope this helps.

I have scripting error when I run MapThis on windows. When I type in a location, the error comes up again asking me whether I want to continue or not.
I’ve downloaded the latest .NET Framework 3.5.
Currently using IE 6.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
May 9, 2008 at 1:30 pm |
I’m having the same problem as many others. I use mapsoffline to save a map file, but when I switch into airplane mode and reload the map, the maps app doesn’t show anything.
I even tried making a bookmark (pin) within the map (while online) and then trying that bookmark while offline, but it still failed. Nambrot suggested something about using a bookmark and that’s the best I could figure from his comments, but it didn’t seem to help.
Does anyone have it working while in airplane mode?
May 9, 2008 at 2:36 pm |
i do not really know whats all about in Airplane Mode.
Does it work when its no in Airplane Mode?have you zoomed in and zoomed out?
Channged the Map Type?
May 9, 2008 at 3:19 pm |
Nambrot contacted me and helped me figure this out. The idea with the bookmarks is to make sure you use the bookmark while you’re online and “recording” your map. The problem I was having was that the saved maps didn’t have the correct zoom level that matched what it was looking for in the bookmark. As long as the bookmark was used when recording the map, it works perfectly for bringing up the map when offline and restored.
Here are the steps I use:
While On-line
1. Go to maps and search to the location you want and save it as a bookmark.
2. Go to maps-offline and delete the MapTiles file (so your saved map doesn’t have anything else in it)
3. “Record” your map: Go to maps app, use the bookmark to go to the location you want, then zoom in and scroll around to get the zoom level and area you want.
4. Go to maps-offline and enter a filename for the save file.
While offline (airplane mode or out of service or whatever)
5. Go to maps-offline and “restore” the correct file.
6. Go to maps app and use bookmark to bring up your map!
That should work perfectly! I hope this helps.

BTW, Airplane mode was just my way of making sure I was “off-line”. It just turns off wi-fi and edge. That’s all.

Hallo,
